Surgery centers are rightfully interested in minimizing capital expenses. At this point, alternatives to purchasing a Hana table from Mizuho OSI may be considered. Let’s explore some of these options.
Can we simply do anterior hip replacement surgeries on a general surgery table?
Dr. Daniel Chan shares some of his concerns with this approach.
Can’t we just use positioners on a general surgery table?
Dr. Nicholas Mast shares his perspective on this approach.
Can’t we just use a “Bump” instead of the Hana femoral hook?
Dr. Mast describes why the “Bump” isn’t as effective as the Hana femoral hook.
What should we be aware of when considering purchasing a refurbished Hana from a third-party reseller?
• Older than advertised
• Missing critical parts
• Requiring service
There are important differences between buying a refurbished table certified by a table manufacturer in comparison to purchasing one from a reseller. Mizuho OSI account managers have heard many stories of surgery centers ordering used or refurbished tables from resellers and discover many issues.
Many surgery centers later found out they could have obtained a new table from Mizuho OSI for less than what they paid in total for a reseller’s solution. If you’re considering a used table, we suggest inquiring about the availability of a Mizuho OSI certified refurbished solution.
Contact your Mizuho OSI account manager for more information on the benefits of a Hana SC Surgery Center Table.
Mizuho OSI provides on-site in-service training for surgeons and OR staff to provide your team with instructions on operating the table and optimizing room set up. It is required that personnel using this device and related accessories receive training by either Mizuho OSI or by someone qualified by the medical facility to provide this training. To schedule an in-service, please contact your Mizuho OSI account manager.
You may also want to consider running through a mock case before your first surgical case. You’ll want your surgeon along with the staff who will be supporting your hip replacement cases to participate. During this mock case you’ll run through all the elements of the case from the time of patient arrival to post-op.
